INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR ADULTS LIVING IN CALIFORNIA

Do you ever feel like life is heavier than it should be? On the surface, you may be functioning well—meeting responsibilities, caring for others, keeping things moving forward. And yet, internally, things can feel fragile. Some days you’re steady, and other days it feels as though everything might unravel at once.
Many adults seek individual therapy in California because of ongoing anxiety, persistent self-criticism, difficulty regulating emotions, or patterns that no longer feel supportive. You might notice yourself worrying until your body feels tense or reactive, snapping at the people you care about most, or relying on habits like emotional eating, excessive scrolling, or avoidance to cope with stress.

High-functioning adults are often especially hard on themselves. You may set thoughtful goals with sincere effort, only to feel discouraged when old patterns resurface. At times, you might want to shut everything out just to get relief—or feel disconnected and numb, wishing you could access more meaning or emotional depth.

I provide online therapy for adults living in California, offering a space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. Therapy can help you understand emotional patterns, develop steadier ways of coping, and create room for growth that feels sustainable rather than forced.
Some clients value faith or family as an important part of their lives; others do not. Either way, therapy focuses on you—your internal experience, your goals, and what would help life feel more grounded and intentional. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come simply because they want to live with more clarity, calm, and self-trust.

I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this process and support meaningful, lasting change.

WHAT IF MY ISSUES ARE WITH MY MARRIAGE?

My favorite approach with couples is to start with individual sessions—and here’s why. Traditional couple therapy can sometimes feel unproductive. Often, one partner is more invested than the other—yes, I’m talking to you, the one reading this website. And if you’re the partner who was “dragged here,” don’t worry—I won’t bite, and it’s not about blaming you for all the relationship struggles.
In many couples, sessions can turn into a spotlight on each other’s flaws, leaving little room for personal growth. That’s natural, but real change only happens from within. Individual sessions allow each partner to focus on their own goals, emotions, and behaviors, creating meaningful progress that truly impacts the relationship.
For most couples, I recommend weekly 50-minute individual sessions. You’re welcome to invite your partner to join as emotional support or to witness your process if desired. Once both partners feel more emotionally stable, we can transition to joint sessions or alternating weekly and biweekly sessions. Newlyweds often move to joint sessions sooner, as there is typically less relational trauma to work through.
Even if only one partner is ready to do the work, therapy can still positively influence your relationship. Change in one partner often inspires growth in the other, and your partner may choose to join the process when the timing feels right for them.
